March 9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall: Garden class with gardening experts from Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Learn how to get the most out of your garden plot this summer. Garden experts will teach you what to plant, when to plant it, how to care for it and how to handle common garden problems. This mandatory class is free to all registered community gardeners.
March 16-17, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the garden: Preseason Work Days: All gardeners should come out and be prepared to work. We will be mulching paths in the garden to stop weeds, clearing leaves and other debris left from the winter, making repairs to the garden structures and more. We can't open the garden for planting until all the work is done.
March 23-24, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the garden: Complete any additional garden prep work. When the work is complete, we will hand out individual garden plot assignments and you'll be free to begin working on your plot.
